인사는 기회가 있고 천리는 도수가 있다 [도전2:74]
1 항상 천지공사를 행하실 때 모든 성도들에게 이르시기를
2 “내가 삼계대권을 맡아서 선천의 도수(度數)를 뜯어고치고 후천을 개벽하여 선경을 건설하리라.
3 너희들은 오직 마음을 잘 닦아 앞으로 오는 좋은 세상을 맞으라.” 하시므로 (…)
7 상제님께서 이르시기를 “인사는 기회가 있고 천리(天理)는 도수(度數)가 있나니, 그 기회를 지으며 도수를 짜내는 것이 공사의 규범이라.

1 While conducting the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth, Sangjenim would say to the disciples,
2 “I am wielding My supreme authority over the three realms to disassemble and reconstruct the Early Heaven’s dosu, and usher in the Later Heaven to build the Paradise of Immortality.
3 Cultivate your mind faithfully and prepare for the coming of this magnificent world.” (…)
7 “In human affairs, there are opportunities; in the principle of heaven, there are dosu. Creating opportunities and establishing dosu are standards of the work of renewal.”

현하의 천지대세가 선천은 운(運)을 다하고 후천의 운이 닥쳐오므로 내가 새 하늘을 개벽하고 인물을 개조하여 선경세계를 이루리니 이때는 모름지기 새판이 열리는 시대니라. (상제님)
Since the tides of heaven and earth dictate that the destiny of the Early Heaven shall give way to the onrushing destiny of the Later Heaven, I shall bring forth a new heaven and remake humanity to raise up the Paradise of Immortality. It is now the age for a new order to arise.
하나님이 왜 이 세상에 오셨는가? 이 세상을 개벽하시기 위해 오셨다. 이번에는 참하나님, 상제님이 친히 오셔서 개벽의 도를 집행해야 사람을 많이 살리게 생겼기 때문에, 어쩔 수 없이 이 세상에 오셨다. (태상종도사님)
Why did God come into the world? He came to the world to conduct gaebyeok―to undertake the renewal of the world. Sangjenim, the True God, must personally come to the world to conduct the dao of gaebyeok for the salvation of multitudes, and so He was compelled to incarnate on earth.
