증산도는 천지의 대행 기구

The Organization That Works on Behalf of Heaven and Earth 

여러 천 년, 만 년 천지는 사람농사를 짓는 다. 그런데 그 천지의 역사를 누가 하느냐? 천지는 말이 없고 수족도 없기 때문에 천지 의 역사를 사람이 대신한다. 사람이 천지 역사를 대행하는 것이다. 지구 일 년에도 천지 에서 초목농사를 지어놓으면 사람이 대신 추수를 한다. 천지에서 사람농사를 지어서 가을에 사람 씨종자를 추릴 때도 역시 사람이 천지의 대행자 노릇을 한다.

It is an unchangeable principle that heaven and earth cultivates humanity for thousands or tens of thousands of years. Who, then, acts on behalf of heaven and earth? It is human beings who represent heaven and earth, which have no voices, hands, or feet. Human beings cultivate plants and trees each year on behalf of heaven and earth. At the coming time when heaven and earth select human seeds, it is also human beings who will help heaven and earth to finish their cosmic-yearlong labor of cultivation. 

그래서 우리 증산도는 천지사업, 천지에서 사람농사를 짓는 대행 기구다. 다시 묶어 서 얘기하면, 증산도는 천지의 열매다. 우주의 결실이란 말이다.

Jeung San Do is the organization that harvests human seeds on behalf of heaven and earth. In another sense, Jeung San Do ? the dao ? is the fruition of heaven and earth. 

하늘 땅이, 일월이 없을 것 같으면 빈껍데 기다. 만유 생명도 일월이 없으면 생성 生成 , 낳아서 키우지를 못하잖은가. 또한 천지일월이라 하는 것은 사람이 없으면 빈 그림자 다. 만유 생명 중에 주체 主體 가 사람이다. 만일 사람이 없다고 할 것 같으면 천지일월은 아무짝에도 소용이 없지 않은가?

If there were no sun or moon, heaven and earth would be empty shells, unable to give birth to or raise anything. Likewise, heaven, earth, sun, and moon would be empty shadows if there were no human beings. The human is the principal being among all life. Without human beings, heaven and earth and the sun and moon would have no use.
