Could you tell us about the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth?
증산 상제님은 이 세상에 오셔서, 천리 天 理 와 지리 地理 와 인사 人事 에 합리적인 최선 의 방법으로 새 세상의 판도를 짜 놓으셨습 니다. 그걸 천지공사 天地公事 라고 합니다. 묶어서 말하면, 인류의 과거 역사를 재료로 삼아, 상제님의 대이상향을 실현할 수 있는 앞 세상의 운수를 짜 놓으신 겁니다.
Jeung-san Sangjenim came to this world, and in the most rational and well-thoughtout way, used the principles of heaven, earth, and humanity to lay a path to a new world. This is what we call the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth (Cheonjigongsa). In short, using the history of humankind as the raw material, he made his ideal of the future become a reality.
상제님은 원신 寃神 , 역신 逆神 을 비롯하여, 인류 문명 발전에 공헌했던 문명신 文明神 , 특 정 지역을 주재하는 지방신 地方神 , 각 민족, 각 성씨의 씨족신 등을 두루 포괄하는, 신명 정부 神明政府 즉 조화정부 造化政府 를 조직했 습니다. 그런데 이 일이 워낙 큰일이 되기 때 문에, 신축(1901)년부터 기유(1909)년까 지, 9년 동안이나 그 일을 하신 겁니다.
