Uniting Heaven, Earth, and Humanity
Sangjenim established a heavenly court of spirits (상제님께서는 천상의 신명정부를 만드셨다)
by gathering all the spirits of people (모든 사람의 신명들을 모아서)
who had lived since the beginning of human history. (인류 역사가 시작되었을 때부터 살았던)
He decreed that this heavenly court (상제님께서는 이 천상정부가 ~하도록 하셨다)
will judge the matters of the past (과거의 문제들을 판결하도록)
through impartial deliberations. (공평무사한 심의를 통해)
Based on this process, Sangjenim conducted (이 과정을 바탕으로 상제님께서는 집행하셨다)
the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth. (천지공사를)
The Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth, (천지공사는)
through which Sangjenim laid the foundation of the coming world, (이를 통해서 상제님께서 다가오는 세상의 틀을 짜셨는데)

Reading Points
1. since : ~이래로
the spirits of people who had lived
since the beginning of human history.
since는 #since 다음에 언급된 시점 이래로 일어난 일을 설명할 때# 사용합니다. 참고로 since 뒤에는 특정 시간을 쓰지만, for 뒤에는 기간을 써서 “~동안”이라는 뜻이 됩니다.
