1. 시간/기간에 관련된 하이픈 형용사

(☞ 두 개 이상의 단어를 하나의 단어처럼 취급하여 명사를 수식하는 형용사로 사용하고자 할 때는 단어 사이에 하이픈을 넣어 씁니다. 시간이나 기간에 관련된 경우, 내용은 복수라 하더라도 단수로 바꾸어 쓰는 것에 주의하세요.)

2. 명사 + named ~ : 1. ~라고 (이름) 부르는 ~

(☞ name을 동사로 쓰면 “~을 ~라고 부르다”라는 뜻이 됩니다. 과거분사 named는 명사의 뒤에서 명사를 수식하는 형용사처럼 쓰입니다.)

Cha Gyeong-seok started an organization named Bocheongyo.

차경석은 보천교라는 조직을 개창했다.

The Sacred Father hired a teacher named Hwang Jun-jae to teach Sangjenim.

성부님께서 상제님을 가르치시기 위해 황준재라는 훈장을 고용했다.

On Hoemunsan Mountain lies an auspicious site named Five Immortals Playing Baduk.

회문산에 오선위기라는 혈이 있다.

3. know + who + 주어 + be동사 : ~가 누구인지를 알다

(☞ 의문문이 명사처럼(주어, 목적어, 보어) 쓰일 때 간접의문문이라고 하며, 어순은 의문사 + 주어 + 동사가 되는 것에 주의하세요.)

They did not really know who Sangjenim was.

그들은 상제님이 정말 누구신지 몰랐다.

Do you know who I am?

너 내가 누구인지 알아?

I know who you are.

나 네가 누구인지 알아.

4. only with : ~가 있어야만

(☞ 참고로, 부사구 only with~ 가 강조를 위해 앞에 올 때 보통 주어 동사가 도치되기도 하는데, 반드시 도치를 해야만 하는 것은 아닙니다.)

Only with the publication of the Dojeon, a new era of Sangjenim's dao has begun.

『도전』이 나옴으로써 비로소 상제님 도의 새 시대가 열렸습니다. (도치 X)

A: Can you tell me about the history of Jeung San Do?

B: After Sangjenim’s ascension, the dao movement underwent three major changes during the last 100-year process of maturation which leads to today.

A: Did Taemonim start the first stage?

B: Yes. Jeung San Do’s first stage was established by Taemo Go Subunim, who succeeded the dao lineage, during the time of the Japanese occupation of Korea. After Sangjenim’s ascension, the disciples, who felt lost, finally came together and gathered around Taemonim. Among them, Cha Gyeong-seok started an organization named Bocheongyo, which attracted seven million members.

A: 도운의 역사에 대해 말씀해 주시겠어요?

B: 상제님이 어천하신 이후 도운은 100년 동안 세 번 변하며 성숙이 되어 오늘까지 전해져 왔습니다.

A: 첫 번째 단계를 태모님이 시작하신 것인가요?

B: 네. 증산도의 제1 부흥시대는 종통을 계승하신 태모 고수부님이 개창한 일제시대 제1변 도운입니다. 상제님께서 어천하신 이후 방황하던 성도들이 태모님을 중심으로 모여들었고, 그중에서 차경석 성도가 연 보천교에는 700만 신도가 운집하였습니다.

A: Then what was the second stage?

B: Jeung San Do’s second phase in the destiny of the dao started as the Japanese imperialism was driven out of Korea and the country finally regained its independence in 1945. Ahn Un-san, His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim, who was waiting for the right time while traveling and studying the world, finally started a new beginning for the history of dao affairs.

A: What is the third stage of Jeung San Do’s history?

B: The third phase started in 1974 by His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim and His Holiness the Jongdosanim. During the first and second stages, about 10 million practitioners followed the teachings of Jeung-san Sangjenim but did not really know who Sangjenim was, why He incarnated as a human, or exactly what He did. Only with the publication of the Dojeon in the third phase, a new era of Sangjenim's dao has begun.

A: 그렇다면 2변 도운은 무엇인가요?

B: 증산도의 제2 부흥시대는 1945년 일본 제국주의가 쫓겨 들어가고 대한민국이 광복을 맞이하면서 열렸습니다. 세상을 주유하며 때를 기다려 오시던 안운산 태상종도사님께서 드디어 도운의 새 시대를 여신 것입니다.

B: 제3변 도운은 태상종도사님과 종도사님 성하에 의해 1974년에 태동하였습니다. 제1변과 제2변을 거치며 천만 명이 넘는 구도자가 증산 상제님을 신앙했지만 그들은 실제 상제님이 누구시며, 왜 인간으로 오셨으며, 무슨 일을 하셨는지 잘 알지 못했습니다. 오직 3변 도운에 『도전』이 나옴으로써 상제님 도의 진법도운시대가 열렸습니다.
