“선천은 상극의 운이라!” 

“The Early Heaven is the destiny of sanggeuk !” 

참으로 단순하고 간결한 이 한마디 말씀 속에 지나간 선천 5만년 고난의 역사가 다 담겨 있습니다. 인간의 삶 속에서 벌어지는 죄악 문제, 인간관, 신관, 우주관 등 풀리지 않았던 진리의 비밀이 다 담겨 있습니다.

In this simple and precise sentence, we can taste the bitter struggles and challenges that humanity had to face in the past 50,000 years of the Early Heaven. In these sim- ple words, all the secrets about the issues of sins, the prin- ciple of the universe, and what it means to be humans and spirits are all answered. 

천지의 상극 질서는 선천 세상의 생장과 발전의 원동력이었습니다. 하지만 그 이면 에서 인간과 만물은 끊임없이 대립하며 갈 등을 겪어 왔습니다. 다시 말해서, 천지 부모 의 몸이 양 陽 의 방향인 동북방으로 기울어진 선천에는 하늘과 땅의 관계가 3양 2음이 되 어 양의 기운이 음의 기운을 눌렀습니다[억 음존양 抑陰尊陽 ].

The order of sanggeuk was the engine behind the growth and development of the world of the Early Heaven. However, at the same time under the weight of the pain and agony of sanggeuk , humanity and all lives continuously struggled and suffered. During the time of the Early Heaven when the body of heaven and earth was tilted towards the yang direction of the northeast, the rela- tionship between heaven and earth was three parts yang and two parts yin. Yang energy was greater, suppressing the yin energy. 

천지 기운이 그러하므로 천지에서 몸을 받 아 태어난 인간과 만물 또한 억음존양 시대 를 살아야 했습니다. 어머니 땅보다 아버지 하늘을 더 숭배하고, 남성이 여성을 억압하 고, 강한 자가 약한 자를 핍박하였습니다.

As such, humanity and all lives that had received their bodies from heaven and earth had lived in the time of op- pressed yin and revered yang. The yang energy of heaven was revered more than the yin energy of the earth. Males domineered females. The strong enslaved the weak.

선천은 상극 相克 의 운 運 이라. 상극의 이 치가 인간과 만물을 맡아 하늘과 땅에 전란 戰亂 이 그칠 새 없었나니.. (도전 2:17:1~2) 

The Early Heaven is ruled by the destiny of mutual conflict and domination. The principle of mutual conflict and domination has governed all humanity and all ex- istence, and so heaven and earth have never known a sin- gle moment free of war. (Dojeon 2:13:1-2) 

이 말씀과 같이 음양이 부조화에 빠진 상 극의 천지 질서가 인간 역사에 갈등과 투쟁, 반목과 전쟁 등 온갖 사회악의 문제를 유발 시켜 왔습니다.

As such, the unbalanced yin and yang of the sanggeuk era became the root of all conflicts, struggles, clashes and wars in human history. It was the root cause of all social ills. 

지난날의 역사를 돌아보십시오. 선천 역 사는 실로 크고 작은 싸움의 연속이었습니 다. 지금 이 순간에도 개인 간의 대립과 투 쟁, 국가 간의 온갖 참혹한 테러와 비극적인 전쟁이 소용돌이치고 있습니다.

Looking back, the history of the Early Heaven was a continuous history of wars, small and large. Even at this moment individual struggles and conflicts, tragic wars and horrific terrors are continuously being waged.  

인류 역사에 전쟁이 그칠 날이 없었습니 다. 또한 가족끼리 싸우지 않는 집안이 거의 없습니다. 상제님은 “전쟁은 가족 전쟁이 가 장 크다.(도전 3:164:6)”고 하시며 가족 간 의 반목과 불화를 경계하셨습니다. 게다가 인간은 내면에서 자기 자신과도 끊임없이 싸웁니다.

There was not a single moment in history when there were no wars. There are no households where bickering and fighting are absent. Sangjenim stated, “Strife within the family is the most devastating of all strifes.”(Dojeon 3:90:6) He warned against discords and fights among fam- ily members. Additionally human beings undergo con- tinuous inner struggles and inner conflicts within themselves. 

요컨대 인간 세상의 분란과 전쟁의 비극은 반드시 인간 자신의 도덕성이 결여 되어서, 신을 믿지 않아서, 또는 가치관이 달라서 생 기는 것만이 아닙니다. 그것은 표면적 이유 일 뿐, 근본적으로는 선천 봄여름 대자연의 창조질서 자체가 상극이기 때문입니다. 천 지 부모가 ‘상극의 몸짓’으로 만물을 낳고 기 르기 때문이라는 말입니다. 그러면 이러한 상극 질서가 낳은 최종 결 과는 무엇이겠습니까? 바로 원한입니다. (계속)

Wars and conflicts around the world are not simply re- sults of corrupt morality, lack of faith or different value systems. These are superficial reasons. The fundamental reason is because the structure of time in the creative process of cosmic spring and cosmic summer of the Early Heaven is sanggeuk . Our parents, heaven and earth, gave birth and raised all lives through the ‘dance of sanggeuk ’. However, there were horrific costs to the Early Heaven’s sanggeuk process. What are the byproducts of the process of sanggeuk ? They are bitterness and grief. (to be continued)
